Good, who narrowly lost his primary in June to a contender endorsed by President-elect Donald Trump, used his final address to the chamber to criticize the federal government's actions.
According to Mediaite, Good's speech was filled with criticism of Congress's activities, stating, "In fact, most of what we do here in Washington is bad, certainly unconstitutional, unjustified, and often downright harmful. Not to mention, we don’t have the money. So, the less we do, the better. In fact, we should be proud of the accusation that over the past two years, this Congress has done less than most Congresses. As Republicans, what should we have done more of that Biden and Schumer would agree to do?"

Good, who was once the chair of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus, lost his primary to state Sen. John McGuire. This came after Good endorsed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the GOP presidential primary, which was seen as a move against Trump. This led to an Axios reporter labeling the move to oust Good as part of Trump’s “revenge tour.”

The outgoing congressman also faced criticism from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who labeled him a “MAGA traitor.” Greene expressed her support for Trump's potential 2024 victory, stating, “President Trump is going to win in 24, and he needs loyal America First warriors NOT Congressmen on a power trip who will stab him in the back.”
Good's departure from Congress and his final speech underscore the ongoing tensions within the Republican party, as members grapple with the legacy of the Trump era and the direction of their party's future.
