Jared “Riley” Dowell, aged 24, was implicated in a violent far-left riot in Boston on November 16, where radical protesters clashed with pro-life advocates and law enforcement officers.
As reported by The Post Millennial, Dowell was arraigned on Monday, facing charges of disorderly conduct and interfering with lawful assembly. This followed the tumultuous events that unfolded during the National Men’s March in Boston, a rally organized with the aim to "abolish abortion and rally for personhood." Dowell was among the 17 individuals arrested after engaging in physical altercations with the police and obstructing the march's progress.
This is not Dowell's first brush with the law. They were previously apprehended for defacing a monument in Boston Common with anti-police slogans such as “NO COP CITY” and “ACAB,” an acronym for “all cops are bastards.” Dowell's involvement in a violent Antifa protest in Boston in 2023 led to their sentencing to a year of probation. During this protest, an officer was attacked and left bloodied.

In the course of that arrest, Dowell was accused of striking a police officer in the face. The charges leveled against them included assault and battery on a police officer, property vandalism, tagging property, vandalizing a historic marker/monument, and resisting arrest.

Despite these serious charges, Dowell, the offspring of the Democratic whip, managed to secure a lenient deal with prosecutors. The case was dismissed after Dowell penned an apology letter to the injured officer and completed 30 hours of community service. Dowell was also mandated to compensate the city for the cost of graffiti removal, according to the Boston Globe.

As part of the agreement, Dowell was required to participate in a community-based therapy program and abstain from attending anti-police protests. It remains unclear whether charges from the 2023 case will be reinstated following Dowell's recent arrest.
