The quest to locate Hannah Kobayashi, a 31-year-old Hawaiian woman, persists, following the tragic discovery of her father's lifeless body and her own enigmatic disappearance that has spanned nearly a fortnight.

Hannah, who was scheduled to meet with family in New York, embarked on a journey from Maui to the Big Apple on November 8. However, she never boarded her connecting flight in Los Angeles.

According to Newsweek, Hannah's family and friends have been left bewildered by her sudden disappearance, especially given her handwritten itinerary that optimistically read "bucket list dreams become a reality." Instead of fulfilling her dreams, Hannah's whereabouts have been sporadically traced through surveillance footage and a series of unsettling and uncharacteristic text messages from her phone.

Hannah stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 140 pounds, and is easily recognizable by her brown hair, brown eyes, freckled face, and a distinctive knife tattoo on one of her forearms. The search for Hannah took a tragic turn when her father, Ryan Kobayashi, was found dead in Los Angeles, where he had been tirelessly searching for his daughter for 13 days.

The first sighting of Hannah was at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on November 8. Surveillance footage captured her disembarking from the Maui flight at 9.53 p.m. local time, clad in a black hooded sweatshirt and tie-dye leggings. Her family revealed that she missed her connecting flight to New York due to a tight 42-minute layover. Hannah was later spotted at The Grove shopping mall in downtown L.A., where she spent a significant amount of time in Taschen Books and requested to charge her phone.

Larie Pidgeon, Hannah's aunt, told Fox News on November 21, "She went to the bookstore and asked employees to charge her phone. So she charged her phone there for an hour and a half while she got food." Pidgeon added, "She even filled out a mailing list with her Hawaiian address, and it's in her handwriting."

She also posted a picture from the event on her Instagram page. Pidgeon told USA TODAY that the family began receiving strange and "super strange and alarming" texts from Hannah's phone the Monday after the connecting flight was missed.

"It's weird to me because it doesn't sound like her, like there's just something off about it," she said. "So I wasn't too sure. I don't know if it's her or if someone else was texting."

On November 19, Pidgeon told USA TODAY that Hannah was seen at LAX airport, talking to an American Airlines ticketing agent. "It's been confirmed that she was trying to basically get a direct flight. She was sick of standby," Pidgeon told Fox News on November 21. Hannah's phone last pinged from LAX airport and has been turned off since.

The LAPD confirmed to ABC News that his body was found on Sunday around 4 a.m. at 6151 W. Century Blvd, a business near LAX. The suspected cause of death was not provided by the LAPD, but the death appears to be an apparent suicide, according to missing persons not-for-profit group The Rad Movement.
