The recent debate between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump has sparked concern among U.S. allies in Europe.

The apparent cognitive decline of Biden, evident during the debate, has left many dismayed and fearful. Democrats are now reportedly scrambling to find a replacement for the 81-year-old leader.

According to Gateway Pundit, the Polish new liberal government was one of the few that openly addressed the issue. Poland's Foreign Minister made a thinly veiled comment, stating, "It's important to manage one's ride into the sunset." Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also expressed his apprehensions. As reported by Bloomberg, Tusk said, "I was afraid of this, in the sense that it was to be expected that in a direct confrontation, in a debate, it would not be easy for President Biden." When asked if Democrats need to change their candidate, Tusk responded, "They definitely have a problem. These reactions are unequivocal."

Meanwhile, other European leaders remained reticent on the matter. Keir Starmer, the opposition Labour leader who is likely to become Britain's new prime minister, refrained from commenting on Biden's performance, stating, "I don't think me commentating on the American election is helpful." However, Labour officials privately expressed alarm at the debate.

The British tabloid, The Sun, succinctly summed up the situation with a single word on its website: "JOE-MATOSED."

Reactions from U.S. adversaries Russia and China were notably subdued. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not watch the debate, stating, "I don't think you'd expect the President to set an alarm, wake up in the morning and watch the debate in the U.S.."

Chinese media coverage was critical of both candidates. However, it is worth noting that shares of a Chinese company, whose local language name translates to "Trump wins big," surged during the debate.

Interestingly, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was recently reelected, is said to favor Trump. Indian officials, speaking anonymously, noted Biden's lackluster performance and Trump's energy. They are now watching to see if California Governor Gavin Newsom emerges as a potential replacement. During Biden's term, Modi often displayed his discomfort with Biden. This recent debate has only served to underscore the concerns of U.S. allies and adversaries alike, casting a shadow over the future of U.S. leadership.
