School excursions to the nation's capital, Washington, D.C., are a cherished tradition for students across the United States.

Every year, throngs of adolescents descend upon the city, eager to explore its myriad of museums and the central institutions of the republic.

According to Gateway Pundit, another integral part of these trips is the purchase of souvenirs to memorialize the experience. Local retailers have noticed a particular trend among these young shoppers - a strong preference for merchandise related to former President Donald Trump.

The Washington Post quoted Khalid Ismail, an employee at I Love DC Gifts, saying, "We have no horse in the race, politically. Like, we don’t care, but man — people love him. Anything Trump-themed, anything with his name on it … people are buying it.” Ismail noted that Trump-related items are a close second to their best-selling item, a cherry blossom sweatshirt that reads "Good Vibes."

Luke Wilbur, a former brick-and-mortar shop owner turned online retailer, echoed Ismail's observations. Despite his efforts to maintain a balanced inventory of Republican and Democrat items, Wilbur reported a significant skew towards the former.

This trend among young consumers aligns with recent polling data. Gateway Pundit highlighted a poll indicating President Trump's lead over Joe Biden among Hispanic and young voters as we approach 2024. The poll also suggests that Trump is gaining traction among Independent and black voters, a development that could spell trouble for Biden and the Democrats.

This shift in political preference has not gone unnoticed. Aaron Strauss, a prominent data scientist, recently stirred the pot within Democratic circles by suggesting that donors should halt the registration of young and black voters ahead of the 2024 election, given their increasing likelihood to vote for Trump.

Even the left-leaning New York Times was compelled to acknowledge Trump's growing popularity among young voters in May, noting a preference for his policies over those of the Biden administration. This trend was further underscored in June when Trump joined TikTok, a platform immensely popular among the younger demographic. Within hours, Trump amassed more followers than the Biden campaign had managed to gather in months.

As of now, Trump boasts 6.2 million followers on TikTok, dwarfing Biden’s official campaign account, which has been active since February and has only managed to attract 376,000 followers. This surge in popularity among the youth, coupled with the increasing support from Hispanic, Independent, and black voters, paints a compelling picture of the political landscape as we approach the 2024 elections.
