Renowned comedian and actor, Michael Rapaport, expressed his indignation after his scheduled performance in Madison, Wisconsin, was abruptly canceled on Thursday night, reportedly due to threats from an anti-Israel group.

Aviva Klompas, a known advocate for Israel, revealed on Thursday that Rapaport's show had been called off due to "threats from a pro-terror mob." In a post on social media platform X, she wrote, "Madison bows to bullies. Michael Rapaport’s sold out comedy shows in Madison, Wisconsin have been cancelled following threats from the pro-terror mob. The mob is screaming about the right to free speech, and here they are trying to silence a comedian just because he is Jewish."

Rapaport responded to the cancellation with a strong message on X, stating, "Yup!!! Very very very F----- Up!"

The ticket-selling website for Rapaport's show at Comedy on State in Madison confirmed the cancellation of the 7:30 p.m. show, but did not provide further details. The venue's website, which previously advertised Rapaport's upcoming performance, has since removed the page.

Fox News Digital has attempted to contact both Rapaport and Comedy on State for comments.

A local Reddit thread posted on Thursday morning revealed that the venue had sent an email to ticket holders notifying them of the cancellation due to safety concerns arising from "escalating protests" and the "contentious nature of the dialogue" surrounding the conflict in Gaza. The notice reportedly stated, "In light of the current environment downtown, marked by escalating protests and a contentious nature of the dialogue surrounding current affairs, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Thursday show with Michael Rapaport. The safety and well-being of our audience members, staff, and community are our top priorities, and we believe this decision is in the best interest of all involved."

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that anti-Israel protests at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW-Milwaukee have been ongoing for the past four days, leading to violent confrontations with the police on Wednesday.

Rapaport, a vocal supporter of Israel and its war against Hamas since the Oct. 7 terror attacks, has publicly criticized anti-Israel protests on college campuses, labeling them an "embarrassment." At a pro-Israel rally outside Columbia University in April, he referred to the protesters as "bullies" and "cowards."

The comedian, known for his liberal views, also predicted last month that the backlash against these protests would contribute to former President Trump's victory in the November election.
