Santos, 35, revealed on Monday that he would be reviving his alter ego on the interactive platform Cameo, following a successful debut.
Santos posted on social media, "Y'all weren't ready for this drop? I've decided to bring Kitara out of the closet after 18 years! for a limited time & with 20% of the proceeds going to @Tunnel2Towers & @TheFellowship." He also provided a link for fans to book their interactions with Kitara.
The existence of Kitara was first brought to light in January 2023 by journalist Marisa Kabas on her Substack site, The Handbasket. Eula Rochard, a Brazilian drag queen and former friend of Santos, shared her experiences with Kabas. She recalled meeting the future Republican lawmaker when he was around 16 or 17 years old, often spending time at her house while his mother was at Bingo.

Rochard also noted that Santos, who went by the name Anthony Devolder at the time, was not a significant figure in the local drag scene. "He did not have what it takes to be a professional," Rochard reportedly said. "George did not have the glamour for that."

Santos initially denied the Kabas report, stating, "The most recent obsession from the media claiming that I am a drag Queen or 'performed' as a drag Queen is categorically false." He continued, "The media continues to make outrageous claims about my life while I am working to deliver results. I will not be distracted nor fazed by this."
However, a video surfaced the same day showing Santos, who is openly gay, dressed in a black dress and sunglasses, giving an interview at the Pride parade in the Rio de Janeiro suburb of Niteroi in 2005. In the video, Santos mentioned performing at various well-known drag clubs in and around Brazil's largest city.

Days later, Santos admitted to reporters at LaGuardia Airport that he had dressed in female attire, but refused to label himself as a drag queen. He stated, "I was young, and I had fun at a festival. Sue me for having a life."
Santos was expelled from the House of Representatives on December 1 and is currently facing a 23-count federal indictment accusing him of defrauding campaign donors and laundering money for personal use. He has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Recently, Santos withdrew his independent bid for the House seat in New York’s 1st Congressional District, currently held by Nick LaLota. Following his expulsion, Santos gained some popularity on Cameo, reportedly earning $500 per video message. He even received a request from Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) to troll another indicted lawmaker, Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ).

Over the past weekend, Santos, who describes himself as a "culture commentator at large," stirred up conversation by ranking gowns and outfits at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Both Tunnel to Towers, a charity providing homes to families of fallen service members and first responders, and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, have yet to respond to requests for comment on Santos' pledge to donate a portion of his Cameo proceeds.
