In the latest episode of "The View," a fiery exchange between co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin unfolded.

The subject of contention was the recent campaign announcement from former Vice President Mike Pence. Hostin questioned Griffin's previous role in the Trump administration, leading to a genuine on-air dispute.

Hostin made her stance clear right from the start. "Alyssa, it's concerning to me that you can't defend a man you once worked for. You claim you need to hear more from him," she initiated, "Personally, I don't need to hear more from Pence."

Interrupting, Griffin protested, alleging that Hostin had falsely accused her and demanding a right to respond. But Hostin, a known critic of Pence, proceeded, reading off a card about Pence's controversial actions during his office. Despite Griffin's objections, Hostin didn't pause.

Unyielding, Hostin stated, "Here's what I want to say about Pence. During my time at Notre Dame, living in Indiana, Pence had a horrendous approval rating due to his handling of the AIDS crisis. It was abysmal. Many lives were lost because of him. Similarly, his handling of the COVID crisis resulted in a multitude of deaths."

Supporting Hostin, fellow co-host Joy Behar interjected, urging Griffin to listen to the argument without resorting to personal defenses.

"Sunny often personalizes this argument with me," Griffin retorted, "Are you going to give me a chance to respond, or?"

Hostin continued her critique, ignoring her pleas, emphasizing Pence's role in downplaying the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic under the Trump administration.

In response, Griffin argued that the show was straying from its intended focus, invoking its originator, Barbara Walters. "This is not what the show is about. This is Barbara Walters' legacy. Let a woman speak," she insisted.

While Griffin contested that it was merely "Sunny Hostin's view," Hostin maintained that it was "everybody's view."

Whoopi Goldberg finally interrupted the argument and declared it was time for a commercial break.

This is not the first time Hostin has shown her discontent with Griffin and fellow co-host Ana Navarro, known Republicans. During an episode of "The View" in September 2022, the topic of discussion was the potential emergence of a third party.

Hostin, often critical of the show's GOP hosts despite their precise anti-Trump positions, challenged their allegiance to the Republican Party. "I reject the framing that it's about three parties. The options are the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or independence. Given what you've seen and what you know, if you remain a Republican, are you complicit? Would it be better to leave the party and become independent?" she questioned.
