An Internal Revenue Service (I.R.S.) whistleblower spills the beans on the investigation into President Joe Biden's son.

Gary Shapely, a 14-year I.R.S. agent, had been assigned to the investigation and, soon after, noticed irregularities in the case.

The Department of Justice (D.O.J.) opened an inquiry into the finances of Hunter Biden. Assigned to the investigation in January 2020, Shapely, assuming it would be a high-profile case, noticed prosecutors dragging their feet and straying from the usual protocols. In June 2020, he began documenting the inconsistencies with similar investigations.

In a CBS News interview, Shapely said, "There were multiple steps that were slow-walked — were just completely not done — at the direction of the Department of Justice. When I took control of this particular investigation, I immediately saw deviations from the normal process. It was way outside the norm of what I've experienced."

According to Fox News, one of Shapely's most prominent concerns was the efforts to protect Hunter Biden and the steps taken during the investigation.

Shapely said, "Each and every time, it seemed always to benefit the subject. It just got to that point where that switch was turned on. And I couldn't silence my conscience anymore."

The veteran I.R.S. agent is breaking the silence. He is scheduled to give his private testimony on Friday before the House Ways and Means Committee. Shapely is one of two whistleblowers to come forth with evidence about the questionable series of irregularities concerning the investigation into Hunter Biden's finances.

Shapely said after he met with prosecutors in October 2022, he and his team were taken off the investigation. He says the D.O.J. and I.R.S. allegedly retaliated against him for questioning their process. Attorneys for the whistleblowers, Mark Lytle and Tristan Leavitt, complained about the alleged retaliation to Capitol Hill lawmakers and I.R.S. Commissioner Daniel Werfel through several letters.

Fox News reported the letter addressed to Werfel read, "The I.R.S. must immediately cease and desist intimidating our client for simply exercising his Constitutional right to petition Congress and his statutory right against retaliation for doing so."

In a statement to Fox News, the I.R.S. confirmed it followed proper procedures.
