Florida Governor Ron DeSantis seems to be trying to get potential donors excited about his run for the presidency.

The New York Times reports that DeSantis has been telling donors he is the only Republican candidate that can beat Biden in November 2024.

DeSantis was on a phone call with a DeSantis-aligned political action committee (P.A.C.) Never Back Down and said he is the only "credible" G.O.P. candidate to knock out Biden in 2024. During the call, he said: "You have basically three people at this point that are credible in this whole thing," and "Biden, Trump, and me. And I think of those three, two have a chance to get elected President — Biden and me, based on all the data in the swing states, which is not great for the former President and probably insurmountable because people aren't going to change their view of him."

The Daily Caller reports that according to The Real Clear Politics (R.C.P.) average of polls right now, DeSantis leads President Biden by 0.5 percentage points in head-to-head polls of the two. These are national polls of how the candidates might fare if the election were held today. This is also an average of national polls that pit the two against each other. They do NOT guarantee what will happen if the two nominees square off in November 2024.

DeSantis continued to remark: "I think the voters want to move on from Biden," "They just want a vehicle they can get behind," and "There are just too many voters that don't view Trump as that vehicle."

The Florida Governor also said that he suspects that the corporate media is who is truly interested in Trump becoming the G.O.P. nominee yet again. DeSantis has racked up many endorsements in the early primary state of New Hampshire. He picked up 50 endorsements from state lawmakers in New Hampshire. He also got 37 endorsements in Iowa and 99 state representatives in Florida. He is still massively in the hole in the G.O.P. primary polls compared to former President Trump. If DeSantis is going to win the nomination, he will need to make up a lot of ground starting very soon.
