The attorney for the man accused of murdering Cash App Founder Bob Lee has made an absurd request of the court.

The Daily Mail reports that the lawyer demands his client’s immediate release because police allegedly relied on grainy video footage to charge him.

Attorney Paula Canny put in a court filing on Monday that stated that the narrative created by police regarding her client, Nima Momeni, was based on faulty accusations due to the grainy video footage already mentioned. Canny insists that the video does NOT prove that Momeni killed Bob Lee in the early hours of April 4.

The San Francisco Standard reports that Canny argues that police spent eight days after the killing creating a compilation video of grainy footage. She insists that the case is leaning too heavily on grainy footage in which neither Momeni nor Lee can be identified.

The Daily Mail reports that Lee’s murder was initially believed to be a random act of violence, but there are different theories now that Momeni is accused of this crime.

A web of connections has been drawn between Momeni, Momeni’s sister, and Lee related to their alleged attendance at underground sex and drug parties.

The video that Canny is arguing against shows a bloodied Lee staggering onto Main Street at 2:30 AM after the alleged attack. Before this, Lee appears to have been confronted by an alleged attacker. Prosecutors insist that the attacker is Momeni. The interaction between the two lasted just seconds before the suspect drove away in a red vehicle.

Lee stumbled down Main Street and ended up outside an apartment building at 403 Main Street. However, he collapsed before he could press the intercom button on the building.

The Daily Mail reports that the dying man was on the ground motionless for several minutes. However, he managed to get to his knees and reach for his phone. A car drives by, and Lee tries to wave it down with blood-stained hands, but that second car continues. Lee can somehow get to his feet, no color left on his face, and he staggers out of sight of the cameras at 2:36 AM.

This crime is still under investigation, but the suspect is Momeni, who has been arrested. There are many unanswered questions, but interestingly, more people are becoming aware of what happened.
