According to a new report, a Connecticut lunch lady who was allegedly grooming and sexually abusing a teen boy was cleared of inappropriate communications with students by school officials.

Court documents and emails obtained by Fox News state the former employee, Andie Rosafort, met with district officials over “concerns regarding social media and maintaining appropriate boundaries and communication with students.”

The concerns about potential issues started around December 1, 2022, with an email between Fairfield Middle School Principal Karen Gruetzner and Rosafort. In the email, Gruetzner thanked Rosafort for talking to her and addressing student contact concerns.

Gruetzner also said in the email, “As we discussed, there was a report that insinuated some images were seen and/or shared with high school students from your social media account,” adding that an investigation of the accusation by the school had, “determined that the content was not inappropriate.”

Fox News reported that the principal urged Rosafort, saying, “caution should be exercised.”

Things changed, and Rosafort is facing three felony charges. She is accused of grooming a boy before sexually assaulting him in her SUV, according to authorities.

According to an affidavit reviewed by WTNH, a report was filed by the school district against Rosafort after an alleged victim’s father alerted administrators that sexual abuse of the child had occurred on January 13.

Rosafort is accused of contacting students on Snapchat and Instagram, sending nude photos of herself to a student, requesting nude photos of the student, and having “contact of a sexual nature” with a minor.

While the alleged communications between Rosafort and students were deemed not inappropriate as first determined by school officials, the situation changed in September 2022 when the alleged victim started high school, according to the affidavit Fox News reported.

Rosafort turned herself in on February 20 and was released on a $100,000 bond.
