Let’s face it. Prince Harry and Meghan’s melodrama has been entertaining, at least on the American side of the Pond, in the same way a train wreck or a plane crash is entertaining.

The rift between Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and the rest of the royal family culminated with the scurrilous miniseries on Netflix in which the royal couple bemoaned their life as a wealthy, privileged couple always in the public eye. Just the News reports that the British people are not amused by their antics.

A recent poll published in the UK Times reported that 44% of Britons want Prince Harry to be stripped of his royal titles. 32% believe that he should remain a royal prince.

23%, having seen the Netflix series “think worse” of Harry and Meghan. Just 7% think better of the royal couple.

53% believe that Harry and Meghan are not owed an apology for the alleged mistreatment they endured on the Netflix show. 19% say that they are owed an apology.

When it comes to Prince Harry and his older brother, William the Prince of Wales, just 17% have more sympathy with Harry, and 44% have more sympathy with William.

Nevertheless, 51% of the British people think that Harry and Meghan should be invited to the coronation of their father, King Charles III.

The rift between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the royal family started when they announced in 2020 that they would be “stepping down” from their royal duties. Things worsened when they started complaining about being part of the royal family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. They suggested that an unnamed royal family member made a racist remark about their son Archie’s skin color.

According to Fox News, Tom Quinn, the author of “Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle,” stated that he was “only surprised that the documentary didn’t do more damage to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

Quinn also said, “I found it painful to watch — it made you realize they are lost souls. It is extraordinary that they feel this will somehow improve things for them. I’m not at all surprised that people have more sympathy for the Prince and Princess of Wales because they are doing the classic thing of being stoical,” Quinn said. “They are not complaining about Harry.”

He added that he doubted Harry and Meghan would be stripped of their royal titles.
