Biden uses numbers offered by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, according to Just the News, Biden’s job numbers have been greatly exaggerated.
The Philadelphia Federal Reserved audited the BLS numbers for the second quarter of 2022. The BLS claimed that the economy created 1,047,000 jobs during that quarter. The Philadelphia Fed countered that the economy only created 10,500 jobs.
The Philadelphia Fed reported that the BLS overstated job growth in 29 states and the District of Columbia. Indeed, in Biden’s home state of Delaware, the BLS claimed a job growth of 4.5%, while the Philadelphia Fed reported a 4.1% loss of jobs.

What accounts for the discrepancy? The Philadelphia Fed used “more comprehensive, accurate job estimates released by the BLS as part of its Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages program.”

President Bident boasted of the BLS numbers during the 2022 midterm elections as a reason for voting for Democrats. He cited the numbers as proof that his economic policy was working, despite the out-of-control inflation.

Understandably, Republican lawmakers are not pleased with the revelations. According to Fox Business, Sen. Rick Scott, R-Florida, made his displeasure known in a letter to BLS Commissioner William Beach.

“For the better part of his presidency, while the American economy has struggled and record inflation has brought historic pain to families and small businesses across the country, President Joe Biden has consistently bragged about job growth.

"Now, thanks to the good work of analysts at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, we know that the BLS inaccurately reported the creation more than one million jobs, and that much of what President Biden has claimed credit for as the economic achievements for his administration is a lie.”

Scott’s letter also stated that the discrepancy “appears to be a massive and incredibly consequential failure that has misled the American people and covered up the damage done to the American economy by President Biden’s radical anti-business, progovernment agenda.”

Unfortunately, the revelation that the Biden administration may have cooked the books concerning job growth only occurred after the 2022 midterm elections. Whether an earlier revelation would have changed the election's outcome must remain one of those unknown what-ifs of history.
