In 1936, footage captured the extraordinary Robert Wadlow, the tallest man ever recorded. Tragically, in July 1940, Robert succumbed to complications from a faulty leg brace, leading to irritation and infection in his ankle. Despite medical intervention, including a blood transfusion and surgery, his condition worsened due to an autoimmune disease. Robert peacefully passed away in his sleep on July 15, reaching a height of 8 feet 11.1 inches. His enormous coffin, measuring 10 feet 9 inches in length and weighing over 1,000 pounds, necessitated twelve pallbearers and eight assistants for transportation.
